Saddle Escape Efficiency

A novel metric to benchmark learning rates in non-convex optimisation. I tested six optimisers across twelve benchmarks, and the results show that no optimiser is best under every criterion.

The paper was accepted at IEEE INDISCON 2026 and ICCAI 2026, and I filed a patent application on runtime optimizer switching that grew out of it. The same project won awards at ICYS, INSEF and CREST.
