Young Asians Fellowship
I was a research fellow at the Young Asians Fellowship, which is backed by Emergent Ventures. After a competitive selection from hundreds of applications across the region, I was named one of its 100 fellows on 18 April 2026.
The fellowship ended with a fully funded summit in Singapore, from 23 to 25 June, where I presented Metabolic Neural Networks, a method that prunes neurons by their rolling activation rate to save memory. I ran 110 tests across 20 seeds, comparing neuron removal after data shifts with unchanged-data controls, and found its limits: burst-based shift detection has blind spots, and the networks cannot yet add neurons when they need capacity. I came third in the STEM track.
